1. Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you (“User”) and Selmeczi Vilmos Vazul (“Loremax”, “we”) governing your use of the Loremax mobile application and related services at loremax.hu (the “Service”).

By creating an account, checking the age confirmation box at sign-in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in EU member states where that is the age of digital consent for information society services).
You must be a natural person with legal capacity.
The Service is not intended for users under 13. We may terminate accounts that violate this rule.
You may use the Service only where it is lawful to do so.

3. Account and security

Sign-in: Apple (iOS), Google, email and password (with email verification), username and password, or approved test accounts (app review).
Onboarding may require a valid email and unique username.
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device secure.
You must not impersonate others, use offensive usernames, or circumvent security or rate limits.
Suspected unauthorized access: loremaxOfficial@gmail.com.

4. The Service

Loremax is a social daily-quest app. Features include (non-exhaustive list):

Daily quests and user quest suggestions (where available)
Photo proof, optional captions
Optional location on quest upload (your choice per upload), and showing your position on the map (on-device only; not saved on the server)
Friends, feed, approvals, comments
XP, levels, badges
Writing a self-made quest: only the creator sees it on the daily list; you can invite friends; available for up to 1 day; when verified you receive creator points (not XP)
Push notifications (if enabled in the app and OS): friend requests and quest approvals are immediate; for inactive users, at most about one quest reminder every 2–3 days (if they have not opened the app for ~2+ days) — no streak or in-app daily quest notifications
Invite links (username only)
Blocking users and reporting content

We may change features. We do not guarantee continuous availability.

5. User content

5.1 Ownership

Photos, captions, comments, and self-made quest text you write (“User Content”) remain yours.

By uploading, you grant Loremax a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and transmit the content solely to operate the Service — to friends and participants per the Privacy Policy.

5.2 Images and direct URLs

Quest photos and avatars are stored in cloud storage; each file has a predictable, direct URL. The App does not list these publicly, but images are shown to friends and participants. If someone obtains the exact link, they can download the image — upload only content you accept may be shared this way.

5.3 Your responsibilities

Your User Content:

Is yours, or you have the right to share it
Does not violate law or third-party rights
Is not illegal, harassing, hateful, exploitative, or violent
Does not contain others’ personal data without consent

5.4 Community rules, reporting, and moderation

Loremax hosts user-generated content (UGC). We provide the following tools:

Reporting

Post / quest memory: report button in the feed
Comment: report in the comment menu
User profile: report in the profile menu

Blocking

Block another user from their profile menu; blocked users cannot send friend requests, and the feed respects blocks.

Moderation

We review reports without undue delay, within a reasonable time; we prioritize serious or urgent cases.
We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts.
Urgent safety incidents: contact loremaxOfficial@gmail.com.

We are not obligated to pre-screen all content, but we act on reports.

5.5 Copyright notices

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, write to loremaxOfficial@gmail.com with:

a description of the work and the allegedly infringing content
identification of the content (e.g. username, post, link)
contact details
a statement that you act in good faith and are authorized (or have the right) to make the complaint

Following a valid notice, we may remove content and suspend accounts for repeat infringement. We cooperate with lawful takedown requests under applicable EU/Hungarian copyright law.

6. Privacy

Processing is described in our Privacy Policy. Key points:

Email is not visible to others
Analytics is opt-in
Location is opt-in on quest upload; map “my location” is on-device only and not saved on the server

7. Friends and invites

Friend requests use usernames.
Invite link: `https://loremax.hu/i?u={username}`.
By default, friends see your past quests and friends list — can be disabled in Settings.
You are responsible for choosing friends and what you share.

8. Prohibited conduct

You must not, in particular:

Harass, threaten, or stalk
Post illegal or offensive content
Abuse APIs / scraping
Automate friend requests
Circumvent rate limits
Commercial spam
Obtain others’ private data (e.g. email)

Serious or repeated violations may result in immediate account termination.

9. Intellectual property

The Loremax name, design, and software belong to Loremax or licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership; only a limited right of use.

10. Third parties

Apple, Google, Supabase, Expo, (with consent) PostHog — their terms may apply. The website waitlist form may use separate web infrastructure.

11. Termination and account deletion

11.1 By you

In-app: Settings → Delete account → confirm
Web: Account deletion
Email: loremaxOfficial@gmail.com from your account email with subject “Account deletion request”

Deletion is permanent. We delete your profile, quests, friendships, notifications, photos, and push tokens; community quest templates you created are anonymized (see Privacy Policy).

11.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate accounts for Terms violations, abuse reports, risk, or legal obligation. Where reasonable, we notify you.

11.3 Subscriptions

If paid features are introduced in the future, cancel App Store / Google Play subscriptions before deletion where applicable.

12. Disclaimer of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”. We do not warrant error-free operation or continuous availability. Quests are for entertainment — not professional, medical, or safety advice.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

We are not liable for indirect, consequential damages, or lost profits.
Our total liability is capped at the greater of amounts you paid in the 12 months before the claim and EUR 50.

Exclusions do not apply where liability cannot be excluded by law.

14. Indemnity

You indemnify us for claims arising from your User Content or Terms violations, to the extent permitted by law.

15. Governing law and disputes

15.1 Hungary / EU

If you are a consumer:

Governing law: Hungary, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
Courts: your residence or Hungary.

15.2 California

California residents may have additional rights; email: loremaxOfficial@gmail.com.

16. Changes to Terms

For material changes, we notify you. Continued use constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. If you disagree, stop using the Service and delete your account.

17. Severability

If any provision is invalid, the remainder remains in effect.
