Terms of Use — Loremax Mobile Application

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you (“you”, “User”) and Selmeczi Vilmos Vazul (“Loremax”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the Loremax mobile application and related services at loremax.hu (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account, checking the age confirmation box at sign-in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 where required by EU member state law for information society services).
  • You must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.
  • The Service is not directed at children under 13. We may terminate accounts that violate this rule.
  • You may use the Service only where it is lawful to do so.

3. Account registration and security

  • You sign in via Sign in with Apple (iOS), Sign in with Google, or approved test accounts during app review.
  • You must provide a valid email and unique username when required during onboarding.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device secure.
  • You must not impersonate others, use offensive usernames, or circumvent security or rate limits.
  • Notify us at ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. The Service

Loremax is a social daily-quest app. Core features include:

  • Receiving and completing daily quests and user-submitted quest ideas (where available)
  • Uploading photo proof and optional captions
  • Optional location attachment (your explicit choice per upload)
  • Connecting with friends, viewing feeds, approving quests, commenting
  • XP, levels, and gamification
  • Push notifications (if you enable them; no streak or in-app daily quest reminders)
  • Invite links containing your username only

We may add, change, or remove features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

5. User content

5.1 Your content

You retain ownership of photos, captions, comments, and other content you submit (“User Content”).

By submitting User Content, you grant Loremax a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute it solely to operate the Service — including showing it to friends and quest participants per the App’s privacy rules.

5.2 Public URLs

Quest proof photos and avatars are stored in a public cloud bucket. Anyone with a direct link may access them. Do not upload content you consider strictly private.

5.3 Your responsibilities

You agree that your User Content:

  • Is yours or you have permission to share it
  • Does not violate law or third-party rights
  • Does not contain illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative, or violent material
  • Does not contain others’ personal data without consent
  • Does not contain malware or spam

5.4 Moderation

Users may report content. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts at our discretion to protect users and comply with law. We are not obligated to monitor all content.

6. Privacy

Your personal data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • Email is not shown to other users
  • Analytics requires your opt-in
  • Location is opt-in per upload
  • You may export your data and delete your account in Settings

7. Friends, invites, and social features

  • Friend requests use usernames, not email.
  • Invite links: `https://loremax.hu/i?u={username}`.
  • By default, friends may see your past quests on your profile; you can disable this in Settings.
  • You are responsible for whom you accept as friends and what you share.

8. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • Harass, bully, stalk, or threaten others
  • Post illegal or infringing content
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, or abuse APIs
  • Automate friend requests or approvals beyond normal use
  • Circumvent rate limits or authentication
  • Use the Service for commercial solicitation without permission
  • Attempt to access other users’ private data (e.g. email)

Violation may result in immediate account termination.

9. Intellectual property

The Loremax name, logo, app design, quest system, and software are owned by Loremax or licensors. These Terms do not grant you any intellectual property rights except limited use of the Service.

10. Third-party services

The Service integrates Apple, Google, Supabase, Expo, and (if you consent) PostHog. Your use of those services may be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

11. Termination and account deletion

11.1 By you

You may delete your account at any time:

  • In-app: Settings → Delete profile
  • Web: Account deletion
  • Email: selmeczi.vilmos.vazul@gmail.com

Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, quests, friends, notifications, and cloud photos subject to our Privacy Policy.

11.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, create risk for others, or as required by law. Where reasonable, we will notify you.

11.3 Subscriptions

If paid features are introduced in the future, you must cancel subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play before deletion where applicable.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times. Quests are for entertainment and personal challenge — not professional, medical, legal, or safety advice.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • Loremax is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) EUR 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where limitation is prohibited by law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Loremax harmless from claims arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

15. Governing law and disputes

15.1 EU / Hungary

If you are a consumer in the European Union or Hungary:

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
  • You may bring proceedings in the courts of your residence or in Hungary.
  • You may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr

15.2 California

If you are a California resident, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Nothing in this section limits rights under California law that cannot be waived.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the App or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. If you disagree, stop using the Service and delete your account.

17. Severability

If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.

These Terms are provided in English. A Hungarian version is available at https://loremax.hu/app/aszf. In case of conflict, the Hungarian version prevails for Hungarian consumers where required by law.
